Short answer

Visit together with the national park; allow 30 minutes. Opening can be irregular, so check at the park headquarters first.

01What you see

Concrete steps lead up to the entrance and into a series of chambers with stalactites, stalagmites and flowstone. Electric lights pick out the formations, and in places the ceiling drops low enough to make you duck. Like many caves on the island, it was used as a shelter during the war.

02Practicalities

Ticketing and opening hours have changed over the years: at times entry was included with the national park ticket, at other times sold separately or the cave was closed. Ask at the headquarters on the day.

?Questions people ask

Is Trung Trang Cave worth it?

It is a pleasant short stop when you are already at the national park, not worth a special trip on its own.

No. Hospital Cave is a wartime hospital a few kilometres south; Trung Trang is a natural cave.
