Short answer
It sits about 10 km north of town on the main road. Entry costs around 40,000 VND, a visit takes 30–60 minutes, and it pairs well with the national park.
01The story
Built between 1963 and 1965 with Chinese assistance, the complex was designed to withstand bombing. It served as a hospital for wounded soldiers and as a safe shelter for officials until the end of the war in 1975. Its location inside a karst hill, with a hidden entrance, kept it protected during air raids on the coast.
02Inside
Concrete corridors lead through three levels and more than a dozen rooms: treatment rooms, an operating theatre, wards, a kitchen and a meeting hall, plus emergency exits. Some rooms are lit and furnished with simple displays; others are bare and dark. A local guide sometimes offers a short tour at the entrance for a small fee.
